Scope of Functional Consulting

Hey folks, recently have found myself on career crossroads. Not sure what kind of career paths generalists have after certain YoE. Are there some generalists on the platform with more than 6-7 YoE who can throw light on what kind of roles are available to generalists after a certain level? Ideally, would want to look at big tech cos. Current profile: 5yrs post mba work ex in consulting + startups.

Hello! I'm working as a functional Consultant in Oracle SCM cloud for a year and half now. Already have worked in a role with good enough functional side in the project, was unbilled for quite a while and now I'm being offered testing roles :( I have done my MBA and prior to that had manufacturing experience. Is this kind of role, I should be accepting? I'm unsure if it will help in my career growth. Also, in fear that this testing role will set a bar for me in the organisation. Then again fearing that I'm unbilled. Please guide me. Unsure where to post, this seemed like a good space.

2 weeks back, I have decided to resign my current job and take plunge as a consultant / freelancer working w.r.t GenAI use cases... I have plans of joining my mentor who does this kind of service w.r.t mobile and webapp for almost 15 years as a one man company. I feel like I will be getting out of zoo into a wild forest any advices is of great help and any leads who are in need of such help will of immense help. Thanks in advance

I have close to 4 years of Consulting Experience. Want to break into Product Management. How do I go about it.

Hi all I am currently working as a business analyst for about 6 months now. Earlier was in a back end development team but was underperforming as could not really figure out what to do. I don’t like coding. The current role suits me but I don’t know if it has a good future. Current role - Analyse old product (old code) (understand the complete functionality) Suggest enhancements if asked for by the client. Give demos to on-site people/developers Test the modernised version of the product (started very recently. Called “functional testing”) Can I switch to a different company with a good jump in pay in future? I feel like the work I do is not really considered worthy and hence there is no growth in this field. Please suggest how to move forward. Would like to work for another year or two and then go for an MBA abroad.

I've been working as a Software developer with a total of 2.5 years of exp in an MNC. I want to explore other areas like consulting. Can y'all suggest how I can get started and would I be a fool to try applying to the Big4? Also let me know if the whole shebang about consultants getting to travel more true or it depends on other factors??

Doston, I'm a 26 year old, run-of-the-mill MBA grad who has just been coasting through life until a very recent and intense encounter with the perils of modern life. Background brief: Academics : 8/5/8; MBA from NMIMS Mumbai ~2yrs of work ex in sales; have worked in financial sales, currently working in non-alco bev sales I have very few hard skills and am not sure where to start. Still, I'm seduced by other lucrative jobs/profiles such as finance, PM, consulting, which feel inaccessible at this point. I've accepted that there's nothing I can do to change the past, but I'm seeking guidance on how to shape my career from this point forward. Looking forward to any advice about jobs, career planning, and even life. Thank you!

Please guide I'm lost I don't know what interests me the most I want to know reality check of all 3 roles - Salary, work life balance, growth. Share your thoughts it'll help. I've currently 2.5y of Experience as Software Engineer in Accenture but I played many roles in project - Testing, Development, Client Demos. Now I'm just lost whichvdirection should I go considering it has good future and not over saturated/fear of being replaced by AI?
