Medical Preparedness 101: Essential Meds, Devices, Facts and Hacks?
What are some medical related stuffs, hacks, facts, less known info, your go to meds, must to have devices or equipments etc? I'll go first - Have Paracetamol for fever, cold, weakness etc - I have an oximeter/thermometer at home, any other must to have kits? - Have a common wheelchair in the apartment for emergencies. - Want common AED device as well in an apartment but it's too expensive over 1 Lakh . - Always buy substitute medicine from other less known manufacturers with the same prescribed drugs, always up to 50% cheaper. What else?

I think AEDs in all societies should become a norm. It'll be such a lifesaver.
I would not go for substitute products from lesser known manufacturers. Quality control may be an issue with drugs...better you stick with the established players.

I would suggest not to depend too much on paracetamol.
Apart from that get medical check-ups done regularly.
And try to change habits to make a more healthier lifestyle if possible so that one has to depend less on medicines & more.

I am not being idealist.
Have seen some instances in friends/friends families/my family that people consider fever to be normal and use paracetamol for 1-3 days then they realise it's not working and when consulted doctor then got to know it was dengue or some other fever.
A friend of mine got his platelets count dangerously low.
Apart from that medicines are chemicals/herbs so the body shouldn't get too much habituated to it in the cases when it's not needed.
When it's needed one should definitely reach out to a qualified doctor and then have the medicines.
I know that in today's world it's almost impossible to not rely on any medicine (people need at least supplements even if they don't need any other medicine).
But over reliance on medicine can make the body habituated and the body's own mechanism to manage/heal might get affected by it.
That's the only concern.
In a nutshell, as long as one is taking medicine as per medical practitioner advice and not doing unnecessary self-medication then they should be fine.
