Did you regret buying a house?

People say buying a house is emotional decision. And a lot of people do it because it is their long held dream.

While many might have been happier after buying house, are there others who might have regretted their decision? If yes, why?

Just trying to get perspective from the other side…

I regret going over budget on constructing my home. Tier 3 city, 29M Home loan (Plot+ construction)= 48L Bought Plot in 2022: 40L (1500sq ft) 2.5 story construction: 70L Interior 20L

Now I think I could have made only ground floor and invested rest money. Although we live only on ground floor and will rent the rest portion but in tier 3 city rent is not much, 12k for 3bhk. But I did it for my mother because she says that it will be less alone with a good tenant once I go outside.

Now I have no money left for my marriage, all spent on home. Sed lyf

No, not at all!

I have 3 houses and I have no regrets. One of them has an ongoing loan and the rest two are giving 1L+ per month.

Obviously the houses are not very big and can be called as mansions (2300, 1900, 1775 sft) but are very comfortable for living. I have not bought houses worth more than 1cr.

You must have got them on some neat deal? <1cr each for such big houses and earning 1L+ per month seems out of the world.

No regrets in present continuous but the thought does linger on few too many times that is it the right thing to do?
For reference, the mansion I am building will cost 6cr+

Was pissed with rents changing as per whims and fancies of the owner and realised that I don’t want the stress, purchased a house within 6 odd months and moved in another 4 months after that.

I have been living here for 8 odd months, no regret till now.

Nope. I purchased one 2 years back, moved into it 4 months back. Totally worth it considering that I moved from a 700 sqft 2bhk to a 1800sqft 3bhk. Kid has lot more places to run around.
