Do you remember the post or comment that made you realize Grapevine is a helpful platform?
Same.
It was during switch, I got the offer & had to resign from the toxic job, but didn't knew how and when to. Earlier resign would mean I have to pay money & everything.
People suggested me to resign immediately, and how to frame it. I did.
It cost me some money, which was a really big deal back then, but as they suggested - down the line it won't matter. And it didn't. I got positive balance in a month or two..!
And other instances aren't specific to one comment or post, rather comments scattered here & there.
For instance once somebody wrote a comment - what we should look for in a partner in a marriage setup or someone who is 35+ writing about their experiences or some unique apps to try which I've never heard of and stuffs like that..
But I definitely know what I don't like - Mindset of the people here. Not everyone. But a lot of them. I must admit I had better expectations after the first few months, but nowadays it doesn't feel the same..
I'll share mine. I had been on Grapevine for couple of months till I was in between switching jobs. My boss' boss wanted to see the offer letter befor approving the notice period, which felt wrong but I wasn't sure. (It was my second job switch)
So I typed out a post here, asking what should I do. Luckily he went for lunch so I got additional 30 mins.
The people unanimously warned me against it. Tell him any excuse than showing offer letter.
So I went and told him, I'm not comfortable sharing. Surprisingly he was okay, so just testing the waters 😒
Grapeviners saved me that day.
P.S. I had requested for earlier release 8 day before the official NP
