Double standards of companies while hiring

Hi Everyone, Saying from personal experience, I have noticed that 10/10 times I am getting rejected if I say notice period to be 90 days during a Job Switch. All companies are looking for 30/60 days joiners. Even though they themselves have 90 days notice period in their organisation. But let us say if you say to HR that my notice period is 60 days and then get selected, how to manage? How to securely transition from one organisation to another. How to negotiate the notice period effectively?

So I interviewed with a company two months ago, after all the formalities were done, I received a response from the HR that I have cleared all the rounds. But the requirements for the position they were hiring me for suddenly changed and they asked me to wait for a while until a new position positions opens up matching my tech stack. At that time I was about to be released from a project in my current company so getting the notice period reduced to 2 months was not that much of a hassle. Today, the HR called me again telling me that a new position has been opened up and if I am available to join I can join. My official period is of 90 days and now I have been allocated to a new project in my current company. I have been wanting to switch since so long because of variety of reasons. But the problem now is the notice period in my current company. The HR is very strict about joining within the 60 days but I am not getting any vibe that my current manager is going to reduce my notice period. Please suggest if there are any ways out of it. Talking about the new obsession with one nation and one xxxx, a thing that actually matters to us fellow employees is one nation one month notice period. This rule is to ensure the notice period is of max one month and not a day beyond it. I know many companies have a 2 week policy and lots of companies in the west have this policy (including startups). But why do a lot of us have to suffer because of 2 and 3 month notice periods when most of the recruiters aren't willing to wait for so long? Also the irony, all these companies want immediate availability. It's high time we make this a law, Modi pls pass the bill for one nation one month notice period.

I resigned from my current company and my LWD is on 10th Jan. The new company I'm joining gave me a joining date of 8th Jan with the clause that I'll only be eligible for joining bonus if I join on or before 8th Jan. My question is can I join the new company before my LWD? My current company is not cooperating to reduce my notice period by 2 days. I guess the joining company did this on purpose so that they can skip on the joining bonus. What could be done here?

I’m an APM with total exp of 5 years and 3 years of exp in Product. Current CTC : 14-16 Tier 2 University/College How much should my ask be, while applying for jobs that could be considered a safe number in terms of CTC? Want to gauge before applying since expected CTC is a mandatory question while applying for more jobs. Also, my org. without my consent has increased my notice period from 30 to 60 days - I’m sure everyone wants an immediate joiner but what would be an ideal notice period range which I should state. Hi Folks I recently got an offer and the notice period over there is 60 days. In my past companies it was 30 days everywhere. Just wanted to know your opinion.

I have resigned recently and got an offer now but the company wants me to join in 30 days. How should I approach this conversation with my manager? Can managers really help you reduce the notice period if they want to or not?
