Data engineer or devops or software engineer what to choose

Hi Guys, I'm an Java SDE and I have had bad luck twice now, I got stuck in a company with a project which was super complicated and many people left from there, another company I joined was a service based company where I got stuck in a legacy java project and management having no experience in tech and creates pressure to deliver quickly. I am sick of this for the last 2 years now, I want to change my field, is data engineering less stressful compared to software in terms of work complexity. And what are the most used technologies that companies use for data engineering, like for backend development, spring boot java and node.js are mostly seen. For data engineering what are those technologies.

Hello guys. I am really confused with both of these topics about which one to choose , I am changing my career domine , currently working as automation engineer, having a thought to shift data scientist role but due to Chat gpt and other AI tools I feel data science role might not available for future . Need your help , which field I should choose for secure future.

I'm relatively early in my career, and has been working as a Program Manager (it doesn't mean that I have anyone reporting to me). I love what I do. The pay is also decent. I also like software engineering (app development mainly). I used to code regularly and has got some apps on the Play Store as well (hobby projects, not big). I'm confused whether I should continue as a Program Manager (going down the managerial route) or switch to a Software Engineering role. I feel like I should get some software engineering experience before being in a role working closely with Software Engineers. But, another thought is why move away from something that I love doing. I'm a bit scared on taking a decision (grass would always be greener on the other side). I don't know anyone like me in the same route. Note: I work at a fortune 50 organisation, awesome team/manager, and all of them are completely supportive of whatever decision I make. My manager is happy to help me grow in any direction (both at the same time as well), but spending energy on one would yield better results. Age: <25 Education: B.Tech (no MBA) Exp: ~ 2 years Note: I would definitely love to be a good manager down the lane (always liked working with people). (I don't want to make this into a thread to fight on coding v/s non coding roles)

I have 2.5 years of experience on CCM technologies(primarily OpenText Exstream) but am not satisfied with it as it's not open source, I am not able to learn it from anywhere on the internet in free hours or while on bench and the project work is the same repetitive type of work. So thinking of switching in the DevOps or Data analytics domain. But not able to fix which one to choose. Please guide me which has good career growth in future and how to proceed. Hi All, I have 6 YOE. Initial 2.5 years I worked as Backend developer in Python, Django, AWS and Little bit JS. After that all of my experience is in Data Engineering mostly in GCP (have few certifications as well.) Currently I am working at Walmart. Most of the work I do in Data side is adhoc and projects are also not upto the expectations lot of manual work is also there. I am not really enjoying my career as data engineer. Pay is good. I am thinking to move back to Software Engineering, 1. is it a good idea for long term? 2. What skill should I focus on if I have to move back? 3. Is it just the projects that I am working on making data engineer look less interesting to work ?

I got hired at a startup for Backend engineer Intern but I switched to DevOps as an Intern there Now I don’t find the profile that Interesting maybe because DevOps is paid less money to be honest I feel like I should switch back to backend but it’s now 1 year from there today I am a bit confused what should I do ? If anyone has faced similar thing can you please guide me !

I want to switch my role to a Data Engineering job as my current role is not having enough job opportunities outside. I am planning to learn tools on Data Engineering. Like the Data Frameworks: Airflow,SSIS,Azure Factory And Dataworks like Snowflake,Databricks,Postgres I need some guidance on which tool to start learning and if I plan to learn these tools for the next 6 months. Is it possible to crack the interviews....this is my 1st switch to a new company. Can anyone pls suggest which framework, Dataworks tool i need to start and has high possibility for getting switch to new company. If possible can you pls share the learning path 🙏🙏🙏. Thanks in advance.
