Why are people failing to understand this?
the purpose of dating apps is not to find you a partner, but to ensure you keep using it and pay for their products as long as possible that's how they are engineered, intentionally. why would they let their paying customers go away ?

True, but that's only if you use it like an idiot and straight up pay for whatever.
Most guys don't understand that swiping right on most women won't help. You need to swipe right on those you actually think you have a chance to match with.
Just doing this much with some decent pics and bio is enough to get any Tom dick and harry more matches.
