Asking zomato folks- When Zomato went for IPO, how much hike did the employee earn on their ESOP grant?

Swiggy is planning to go public soon and has offered to exercise our ESOPs at a certain valuation. This is not a buyback, so we will have to pay taxes on the exercised shares. Is it worth exercising now or should I wait for the IPO? I will only gain from this if the IPO price is higher than the exercise price, otherwise I will end up paying more tax. Did Zomato have a similar offer before its IPO? If so, what was the best option for its employees?

Haven't heard a lot about it, but I'm sure folks working there since 2017-18 or so would have made close to 3-4 Cr by now? did some mid-senior people retire from that money?

All Zomato employees including me and 3 more close friends dumped all our shares we got and bought after recent price hike.

Where did you work and how much money did you make? Asking as it looks like a lot of promise of ESOPs and wealth creation has failed employees in this bloodbath slow growth, layoffs, and job changes.

Would you rather sell at a devaluation and access liquidity or hope that next buy back allows you greater rewards?

Hi GVers, For those who've seen their company IPO (Zomato, Nykaa, PayTM, Delhivery etc.) during their tenure, by how much did you ESOP value appreciate after the IPO? Also, how long before the IPO had you joined the company? For those who've seen buybacks and secondary sales in their company How much did your ESOP value appreciate during such events, if any? How long ago before the event had you joined the company? PS: I've heard ESOP value for some IPO borne companies appreciate by 2x after the IPO.

Approx 2000 Swiggy folks are going to be like “Paisa hi Paisa”. Anyone here who will be benefiting from this??
