Refurbished electronics on subscription
What do you think of this idea, get an all apple kit for example for Rs. 5k per month with some security deposit/credit card hold. I was planning to start refurbished electronics, but then occurred we dont have subscription model in India like the US, thinking of pursuing this. Thoughts?
People WILL treat the electronics like shit, and no insurer will touch this!

Thats a good point. But apart from the body, internally it doesn't matter. Cost of the body is not much, can do a refurb every time it changes hands/annually. My company does purchase laptops on rent, can extend to entire suite.

I’m someone who switches up my gadgets frequently. So I’m in the target market. I would love to switch to a refurb product, but it should be top notch quality.
So far my biggest issue has been trust. I cannot trust that any seller on OLX or others is selling me a genuine / fault free product. I’m willing to pay a monthly subscription, but I’d want to see / inspect the product before I get anything.
It would be good to have some sort of trust system with your platform as well. After a few months, I would expect to be ‘ranked’ highly in your system (because I take very good care of my gadgets). This should get me some benefits like reduced pricing.

Good idea but smart people prefer to buy on EMI than paying subscription every month. Most of the times, EMI works out to be cheaper. There are companies for a long time who are already doing it for home appliances. I have used one of them. Repairs and service is a big problem. How are you going to handle it? You can't repair an Apple kit nor replace it easily if a customer complains.

Owning an appliance is a different ball game compared to phones. Phones keep launching every year. We dont think of changing fridges every year. This way you can upgrade every year without having to worry about ownership/damage etc. Wrt apple kit, obviously the entire kit can't be damaged, one item will be damaged. Will be replaced immediately.

We have been doing repairs and service since mobiles phones existed, probably the 1st ones in India to do so. Hence thinking of starting this.
