Is it a right time to switch job?

I am a generalist having 3 year experience working in startups (Series B and seed funded). I am handling Product and Growth in soon Series A Start-up. But I'm thinking to switch. Need guidance is it a good time to switch job?

Hey folks, I have been working in startups for my entire experience and was wondering if it would be worth it to switch to a bigger org for better growth/learning in this market? My reasons to switch 1. Low learning potential: I am a senior SDE here and WLB here is really good, too good in fact (I barely work a couple of hours if even that), this is leading to a lower learning potential, the work I get assigned, I complete in a couple of hours and while I have been given bigger projects, the learning is not there, I can easily complete them, and since I am the senior SDE here, I cant ask anyone to review my code/performance 2. Startup is in early seed stage, and there is definitely an uncertainty here about surviving till next year 3. I wasnt given much of a hike despite a level promotion (just 10%). My manager is really awesome and one of the best guys I have ever worked under and honestly I wouldnt even think of switching if I had 5-6 YOE but at this point, I think i need to learn more and get some more guidance/review from experienced folks to grow. My salary is decent, but having my friends work in FANG/FANG-equivalent is definitely not helping my FOMO, specially when I hear about their projects in their orgs and compare it to mine which are nowhere near theirs in score or complexity. and the reason why I am hesitating to switch is seeing the layoffs news coming in everyday, I can prep for interviews in the next couple of months and probably apply then but seeing all of these layoffs and folks finding it hard to land jobs is making me fear that I will lose this job with nothing to show for it in the end. So, should I switch in this market or stick it out in my current org until market situation improves (considering it wont improve until next financial year)? I want to know the right time to switch? How much time should someone with 5-7 yrs of experience in product / business strategy spend in one company (ideally)? Context: I am in a product strategy role where I am working with the founders and leadership team. I have done engineering and MBA from tier 1 colleges. I have 2 yrs of pre MBA and 4.2 yrs of post MBA experience. My Annual compensation is the range of 35-40 lpa. Post MBA, I have done a startup for 1.5 yrs, worked in 2 unicorns for 1 yr each. In a serious B funded startup right now with 9 months of experience.

Hello everyone I wanted a quick suggestion from everyone. I have 3.7 years of experience and currently working as a Devops Engineer in Ericsson with 10 LPA. I am not at all happy with my compensation and I don't see any growth opportunities here. So I want to resign and switch. Is it a good time to switch? Please help me with your guidance I am really stressed.

Hi folks , for sometime now , I have not been very happy with my current role. I was planning to start looking for opportunities this year but seeing the layoff trends , I am skeptical, my company currently is stable and no risks of layoff as such, just that there is not much learning and growth. Please suggest if this is a good time to look out for new opportunities or stay put.

I am 2022 passout 24 yr old.I have joined one service based startup after college for 6.2 Lakh.But Out of 10 months I was on the bench for 8 months so in that period I have prepared for interview and Got the offer of 17 LPA.Its been 8 months in this job , But from last 2-3 months my growth is stagnant and I got bored as their is not much work as well.So should I go for another switch or wait ?

I work with a south eastern gaint. Joined them just after college with around 19LPA for first year.. but they only gave 10% increment. Should I even try to switch given the market conditions? Its been exactly one year now. Work wise I think its okay. Not much work load and everybody is chill.

Graduated in 2021 have 2 yoe working in a b2b unicorn as sde-1, earning 20lpa fixed no esops. I made one switch last year. But now I realised I was learning more in my previous product company. Here most of the work is boring like writing repeated sql queries minor bug fixes and very little coding. Is 20lpa low as per industry standards for 2 yoe in bengaluru ?

Hey everyone, when do you think is a good time to move on from a startup and start looking out for a new role ? To give you a background, I have been part of this startup in a sales closing role for more than 3+ years. Being a Hardware + software product, we had a rough time in the initial years but clocked close to a 1 Million USD in orders booked with good contributions from my side. However, past few months, the mood across board is very gloomy with • Layoffs happening every month , • Competition moving ahead of us in a rapid pace, • We are more or less absent from most of the tradeshows. Being a Hardware product driven through trade channels like distributors, being present at these shows is paramount. So no inbound leads • Marketing function being reduced to single person responsible to just post on LinkedIn and website maintenance, • No clear direction from the founders on the way forward, completing the remaining product items or contributing to sales • A feeling across board that everyone including the senior management is just looking at saving their jobs • Last hike in Jan 2022. In Jan 2023 we did not have any hike but we were promised a percentage of orders booked if we reach BEP. we are still way short of BEP How do you think should I evaluate the whole situation ? Is it time to look out aggressively for a new job ?
