Need a reality check/advice.

Is it okay for a tech enthusiast to not be interested in hands on coding full fledged or maybe not be an expert at it. I feel that if I give more time and effort in learning new stuffs and tech, I can excel at my job as a software engineer and even upskil myself but after 4-5 years, I still love to learn things and be updated about latest tech and do projects of my own but at a lesuirely pace without the anxiety about job or any interview.. But since I was in school I had too much interest towards business, ideas, startups and now that I am 28, i feel i really want to take that leap of faith with my entrepreneurial journey. I have couple of ideas I am quite passionate in the FMCG domain and couple ideas for tech based as well. From my heart, i always am into tech whether with job or jobless. But I don't like hardcore coding and stuff now.. Kind of done with it.. So my question is, has anyone else felt the same? Has anyone from tech sector plunged into FMCG sector with zero knowldge about that sector? Has anyone with average knowledge in tech industry tried to build a hardcore startup around tech by hiring someone else? Please share your experiences and advice and not from success stories of Rags to Riches that even I can find on Google😂

I would want to understand the reason for your affinity towards the FMCG sector and what is driving you towards it. Is the love of good food or seeing the brands u consumed in your childhood to be relevant today as well?

Nice question.. So yes, I am a foodie and love the ecosystem around it. Although I am a software engineer but still I am continuously scanning my surrounding and opportunities. One such thing i found is sugarcane. Its a very cheap and roadside kinda product which people don't really care much for more than sugar and jaggery that's extracted from it. But my obsession for fruits, juices led me to sugarcane as a vital Commodity which is not getting it's due potential and respect in India even though India is the second largest producer of sugarcane. So I have novel ideas which revolves around sugarcane and its byproducts which obviously are research intensive but can do wonders for environment, sustainability and cater to innovation. Obviously I am not just talking about sugarcane bagasse straw and plates but it goes beyond that.. So yeah.. All these combined with science innovation and research is what makes me more fascinated towards the FMCG industry along with chemical and other things depending on the byproducts I will be working with from. Sugarcane. Its like my focus area is targeted towards sugarcane and I consider it green gold.

Also my main problem - I am obsessed about business and ideas and innovation. I have sleepless nights about these things even since college. Never was a job kinda person.. Still to be independent and support my family and myself, I tried job life as well.. But I am. Constantly obsessed with ideas, innovations and how I can use this curiosity of mine to start meaningful business and not just any random crap for the sake of doing business or be considered cool for doing a startup.. I actually want to dive into this

Thanks! But as per my knowldge, today for that role too everyone needs MBA kinda degree or these Upgrad kinda programs usually which is specifically curated around Product Management.. Obviously it's not true for everywhere but i believe mostly yeah..
