Where do you keep your emergency fund?

I have lump sum of 3.6 lakhs in my savings account. Pls suggest where to invest it. I am thinking of 50% of lump sum invest in FD and 50% of lump sum in liquid funds.

As u guys know only 5L is insured, I want to know how much you’re comfortable keeping in account? Maybe someone’s living expense could be 10L a year and they are okay with keeping that as emergency fund liquid, just an instance. But given the kinds of scams and stuff that go on in wild, what is a good formula or number of Lacs to keep in bank account? Maybe u have several accounts for different purpose and u divide it? Please share your views.

Insurance, investments, loans - fire away, happy to share the information I have / researched

Every month my salary gets credited I barely spend 20% of it the rest of it is just sitting around in my bank account it's already above 5L. I keep thinking of investing it in stocks/mf but it's a lot of work 😔 What do you guys do with your salary, it would be great if you can share your investment strategy and how do you keep yourself motivated to stick to it

I see most of the people have over 60% of their net-worth in some kind of a financial instrument. So do you plan to just take out the investment after some milestone to use it? Like how do u rotate from investment to liquid - on what condition or how often? Like people advice to keep emergency funds worth in bank account but what about sudden big purchases, bills or so? Do u then just sell off the investment and wait for the money to hit ur bank and then proceed with the thing ?

I am seeking some advice here if there’s any service, guidance related to lump sum investing for my retiring parents. They don’t have any liabilities, will get monthly pensions. They hold some equities, MFs but that was bit scattered without proper planning. If anyone here helped their parents plan better risk, stress free retirement lives, pls feel free to add. My idea as of now is to - 1. Put 20% in FDs for any medical emergencies (beyond health insurance) 2. Another 20% for philanthropy goals they have from long 3. Rest 60% in icici pru multi asset fund , it will keep rebalancing the asset classes and taxation will be under LTCG. Please share alternate plans, will help us. Thanks!

Hey Grapeviners, I need help from all the experienced folks out there. I and my father have 2 loans: 1. Educational Loan EMI - ₹6500/month for 15 years (₹ 7 lakh loan) 2. Home Loan EMI - ₹22500/month for 9 years (₹ 17.5 lakhs loan) I am 22 and started my full-time career this month and wanted to understand how to repay 2 loans along with my father quickly with less financial burden. (I am the only child) My expenses - 1. Paying Home Loan EMI - ₹ 22500/month 2. Investments - ₹ 30000/month 3. Petrol - ₹ 5000/month 4. Miscellaneous - ₹ 5000/month 5. Left with - ₹ 20500/month (lumpsum) Should I create an emergency fund for myself first with the remaining amount or what else should I do, totally blank in this case? My father looks after the household expenses, education loan, and his own investments. Not sure, how much he is left with at the end of the month as I am not aware of his income. (He has a private job) P.S. - 1. I spend consciously and don't have a bad spending habits. I love to drive (bought a car myself in Dec 2022) and climb mountains, so I manage to do treks every 3 months. 2. I am rigid about my investment amount, so may not compromise on that part. Would be forever grateful, if I get some helpful suggestions.
