There are a lot of factors that add in to your retirement calculations :
- Monthly expenses today and post retirement
- Where do you wanna retire. Metro city versus rural area
- Do you have ancestral wealth/home
- How many dependents do you have
- Chronic illnesses and history of chronic illness in the family for OPD care after retirement (some medical insurance don’t cover this and it will add up to your expenses)
- Do you have a partner that earns money
So there is no one size fits all.
In my case, it’s 6cr at age 50 but then again I don’t plan to not work after retirement, I plan to work for 2-3 hours a day in the capacity of an external consultant. Simply because I can’t not work at all 😅 hope this helps!
