Give me a reality check on this one

I use 'Yaar' as salutation a lot Which I assume (could be wrong) okay with friends

Today I realised I get taken in the flow and call my colleagues or work partners 'Yaar' too (not my boss though)

Is it wrong? It is perceived in a different way? Should I be conscious of this behaviour?

Adding one more dimension,

It depends on the region you are based of, If you are in North or West

Na it's fine. Use it as a strength.
Say in your family/upbringing it gets used as a term of endearment. If you accidentally use it - then just say because I'm comfortable with you or I care for you enough that it accidentally slips off my tongue. Use your weaknesses as strengths people.

I say yaar in every sentence. Be it my manager, CEO, or any colleagues.
