Total scam. For the exact same reasons you mention.
Any such publicity list 30U30, 40U40, 50U50, ..... all pay for play / "strong recommendations".
30u30 has consistently given us next level con artists
I read a tweet a while back - Forbes US 30U30 list has cumulatively raised 6 bn and scammed people out of 18 bn.
It’s a scam. I work at a place that is certified great place to work. It is not a great place to work really.
Someone should start a 'mediocre place to work' or something. Much more realistic imo
Probably the idea was novel when it started out. While no company would remain perfect, it still helps to attract potential candidates.

Total scam. I know of a shitshow co which bought the GPTW. To be fair they were rejected once and then i guess "bought the right package" and duly got certified
Everybody has the batch of GPTW but when you get inside you understand how shity the culture really is. The Indian companies are manipulating the survey and getting this batch easily. No credibility for the batch.
Does anyone else feels that whichever company gets the certification of "great place to work" actually turns out to be a shitty toxic place?

When a metric becomes a target, it ceases to be a good metric.
