I recently interviewed at an MNC and my interviews went great. They also gave a case study. At the time of final negotiation for salary, i asked for standard 40-45% hike. However they took some time and came back with an offer of almost 95%-100% and literally more than that if i include yearly fixed bonus component.
This was a big surprise to me, and they states that we have done this taking care of pay parity, etc.
I am very happy, However, i want to know is this common or happened with anyone else? Are there such good companies, people and HRs...

Yes, it isn't common, but it happens. That's a good company trying to not fuck you over!
But, do confirm the level you are hired into, if they think you have potential, they might have thought of hiring you for 1 level above, hence the increased pay.

Then you need to evaluate if for that level, that's the pay in the market. If not, ask for more, if yes, then well, take the offer if you like the company and everything falls into place
We are so used to bad behaviour that good behaviour seems fishy and ironical. This is good behaviour, and this is good company. In a good profitable shape and looking to hire long term. Thus they offered such proposition.
I agree with you. Its just that i am asking for thoughts on this because i belive in the saying that always think twice or give enough thought to it in life when something too good or something too bad happens with you.
But yeah, i agree with that we are used to a very mean world thag goodness is often doubted and taken with a pinch of salt. Which definitely should change.
If you’re looking to double check on this, you may sure check the culture, any layoff history, projected professional growth.
Yes it happened to me almost 2 years back, but got another better offer so didn't join them. But I heard that their culture is really nice and all and also they prioritize employee needs.
Thanks for the comment, i was getting another offer, but didn't purse it as i think its unethical, given that they gave me much more than i asked, i dont feel appropriate that now i use it to do horse trading and get a more higher one using there's.
I got a 3 offers which was at >100% hike as the role was one level up, 2 years back. Pls remember the salary was 1 level above and be sure to step up to match their expectations in the new role.
