How do deadlines work in your organisation?

  1. Who decides the deadlines for tasks? Are you responsible for scoping the task or does a senior do it for you?
  2. How often do newer, more urgent tasks come in when you are working on your planned task? Does the deadline for the planned task move in such cases?
  3. Do you often have to work long hours and over the weekends to meet the deadlines? How often do you think that the deadlines are unreasonable?

  1. We follow strict agile model and we as a team collectively discuss on the amount of work before the sprint starts and the effort...We have a 2 week sprint
  2. No urgent or unplanned tasks comes as we follow strict agile model where in it will increase the churn which is monitored by the agile lead and senior management. Only critical producty issues are taken and they usually come during release time. We follow monthly release.
  3. No we as a team plan and take only that much effort a developer/anyone should work in that 2 week sprint...Its upto us and our skills whether to overwork or not

The above points depends on your team and the product and your leadership. In my same company I have worked in a different team where the working model is completely different but still the whole company tried to follow agile model
