How good/bad do you think a career in EPM consulting is ?

Before I graduated I thought I'd get a job as a backend developer. But because of circumstances I got placed in a company where my job role is EPM (enterprise management).

I'm trying to pursue other opportunities (backend/frontend) related outside of the company but I am not getting an call backs because I don't have "work" experience in that domain (backend/frontend).

So I wanted to ask how good or bad the career growth is for an EPM consultant?

What do you suggest?
