How should I bridge the gap?

Hi everyone, I'm a software engineer with 2 years of experience. I've worked on building mobile apps and have some good experience with Python too.

For 2024 spring semester, I will be moving to the US for my masters. Currently, I'm serving notice period in the company, and I have around 4 months before I start my studies.

I'm trying to decide whether to take up a contract role or focus on improving my skills and contributing to open source projects. I want to choose the option that would be best for my career. Any suggestions?

Learn new open sourced LLM( Text, audio as well as visual).... Learn langchain... Learn to GitHub copilot effectively..... Deploy models on hugging face... By 2026, all of these will become very very mainstream

Recently started working with LLM (ChatGPT) … using it build relational tags based on the text. I am very new AI/ML itself.

Maybe focus on what you will be studying in masters. If you already have in mind which course credits you will be picking up maybe just do them beforehand. Performing good in first sem increases chance of getting teaching assistant role in next semester and those are paid roles
