I have a different hypothesis here - OpenAI will be consumed by MSFT/APPL sooner rather than later. Sama holds 7% of OpenAI, and can’t control the decision. Murati has left the company, she played a significant role.
At the same time, if we are considering the whole LLM bandwagon as a golden pot, I feel Zuckerberg is placed well to monetise it. They have the core technology as well as distribution. Orion looks promising, ‘showing privilege to others’ won’t stop in future either.
