I feel dumb

I love being in VC, I am great at networking and have nice communicational skills. It’s been an year for me in VC, but I still find it really hard to grasp business models. I feel really inferior to all other analysts. What should I do to be able to evaluate businesses more efficiently?

The best way for it would be to create a valuation model of a few public companies and understand their model.

I would say Amazon, Apple, Coca Cola, and Shopify from an international standpoint

Or,

HUL, TCS, Adani from India

Only when you create a financial model from scratch and understand each line item would you get a thorough understanding of the business the company is in. How it's making money, it's cost centres, etc.

Learning curve is there, but this activity would provide you much more understanding on the different types of business models that can be there and you'd be able to apply it to your VC career as well.

Great tip, thanks @Smurfminion

Side question, how'd you get the role? Curious to know what the interview process was like?

Nothing much sent my CV and got selected for the interview.
