I'm really confused

I started at a pre-rev startup for 10K per month internship as an app developer when I was in my 7th semester of engineering. By the 8th semester, i became a full time employee for 6LPA. That was about 12 months ago. I have great rapport with my CTO and CEO. I received an offer for 8LPA from a well known company, my current employer matched it. I received a counter offer for 11 LPA (10+1). Even though I like the people i don't feel overly optimistic about this given the market circumstances. Should I make the switch? Really very confused.

Why did you decide to start searching for switch? Was money the only factor? If not, switch.

So you mean to say if money is the factor don't switch?

Yes, if money was the only factor for your decision to start looking for change, don’t switch. It is never a good idea to switch just for money factor. But if other factors are involved- like work culture, nature of work, learning opportunities etc, then take this opportunity and switch.

Stay with your current employer, they understood your worth by giving you a chance in 7th sem. Play big in small field

This. You are still fairly early in your career. Prioritize learning and mentorship from a good leader. Those 3 lakhs will be easily covered multi fold if your growth trajectory is solid.

This might also be a good time to have an honest 1:1 with your CTO and align on your growth trajectory in the coming years. Then evaluate every 6 months if you are moving closer to that or not. Course correct accordingly

Btw that well known company will still hire you later if things don't work out well here. looks like they really like you.

Unless there are cultural issues at the current company - priortize learning over everything else . I have seen (and spent years ) at large companies where folks do not get to do any meaningful work. Learning is hampered by a lot - which hurts future earning potential.

Switch or Don't? Startup offering 10lpa

Currently in an MNC at a non-tech product role @ 6.5LPA, the manager is amazing and the team is chill. Work is also fun but the company didn't give appraisals this year.

A brand new startup approached me and is offering 10lpa fixed.

I take a pay cut every year due to inflation. Involuntarily, of course.
