For me, I took a break for 30 days. Did nothing but chill. Next 2 months were followed by interview prep, interviews and hometown visits and a Goa trip with friends
In the end, it worked out because there were no loans, and I was confident that I will land a good role soon.
(Joined Jio which clearly was the wrong move, but thats a story for another day)

Tell me one thing, I situation like this occurs. Like you get laid off and you don’t have a job. Is it fine that take 3-4 months to prepare and get a job? I mean what about those 3-4 months of no full time work. Do these recruiters ask you about those 3-4 months and what were you doing??

If you have the skills they need, and if you are confident that those three months have improved you, I don't think recruiters will worry much about it.
People deserve to take a break for living the life actually.
Still, there might be some old school people who think a human should be working full time without even a single month break.
But, after all why are we working? For making a living. Now, Are you living it really?

Do nothing

Take a break and then grind on
