Yesterday I was having chai at this shop. And some other girl was talking with this vendor, and they were laughing on some discussion. Well, me and my friend were having our own shit to laugh, and they thought I’m joining them in theirs.
That vendor started laughing even more, I was like what happened bro, then he explained something in kannada, I was ooohh okay, huehuehahahaueuehhaa!
Now we are frens. (I don’t know Kannada)
Enthu, come already, itna twitter pe research mt kro!

It has always been unsafe unless you learn kannada

You realise it's not just North Indians who don't speak Kannada? There are 4 other major southern states who don't speak it too and live in Blr peacefully. And Blr is literally full of Mallus, Tamil, and Telugu people.

That's true, yes. But the proximity in distance helps with language as well. They have common words across their languages and can have broken communication from what I've seen.
Even learning broken kannada for northies will help that much, which is sufficient for the most part imo.

I’ve been in Bangalore(HSR layout/Koramangala) for 6+years and I’ve rarely faced discrimination, just pickup some basic Kannada if you’d want to live here for long, problem solved.
This is mostly election time noise and It’ll settle down in 2-4months. Tbh, people are pissed off that we live and work here and we don’t vote here and just live here for $ & booze.
An HR had said that some oldies dislike Northies because they came here for jobs and made Bangalore a party/pub city instead of the green retirement paradise it once was. She used to feel the same and had didn’t want her son to choose B.Tech CS or ever join Software industry. 😔
Plus, the cost of living increased so much that people without land had to move out or travel for work weekly.

Even if you learn kannada, they will not spare you. Not worth the hassle and harassment.
If you're researching on Twitter then even India isn't a safe place to live! Come over, Biryani. It's all fine and normal here. Bangalore's spirit is much bigger than these fringe elements.

Where's my Idlii 😂

Not yet. On a day to day basis, you won't ever cross roads with a Kannada activist.
