Hi folks I got laid off in nov from a startup . Had no luck getting a job since then. I recently recieved offer for a job in service based company with same salary and remote role. Should I join and look for others? Standard things like 3 months notice apply.

Sure, grab the opportunity you are getting. In this tight job crunch it’s hard to negotiate when you are jobless. Keep the job and then start working on other companies

Nope, if often negotiable. Otherwise if you get a better package on switch, buy back the remaining time of notice period. Generally you can reduce the notice period to 1 month.
Imo, don’t get into service company unless you are in deep financial crisis. Service companies can be the death of your career.
Take it
When you decide to leave perform subpar at work, and ask manager to put on "observation", if they don't put automatically, then resign during this period they will truncate the notice period.
My friend left Zensar using similar trick.
