Now will they do me dirty - some might, but they are a hard NO to entertain any further for me becauseI bring experience of working with top tier talents in well funded startups, where RESPECT for the skills you bring and alignment matters.
This comes from a place of privilege in being in the top 20% of well to pay orgs - Only willing to work alongside high agency folks who respect the break part and reasons behind it, and impact leverage in long-term vs short term budget saving. Might be a different story if you are in other exploitative based roles/orgs like service, WITCH etc.
Worst case you have built decent credibility with prior managers and they will happily hire you in their new orgs.
