Lost in Life !!

Big post rant !!!

32 years old Male, born and brought up in UP. Parents native to Karnataka, post bachelor’s got job in Microsoft on third party payroll working as support engineer for Azure Identity.

Wanted to prove my worth to the organisation and make my parents proud, unfortunately things turned out bad had to leave in a years time.

8years into the industry i see my batchmates my friends and younger ones making 4X money at minimum what i make currently (16LPA), married but again things are not turning well for me.. I have lost all interest from life don’t feel like going out, learning new things no hobbies also just working on office tasks since it provides paycheques.

I really feel like I am left behind and will always be left behind. I know life’s not fair but I just have lost it at all corners of my life.

Its just that i am living for my parents !!

Sending some positive energies to you brother ✨🪩, hope you cross these hard times soon, it is just a phase 🥳⭐️ Go back to your childhood - and see what you really used to love doing, start doing that, along with this - Take sunlight daily, wash legs before going to bed, drink plenty water and most importantly start talking and thinking positive. In life, We all have our own journey and destiny. Life is very short, please don’t waste in overthinking, enjoy every day 🤍

I will tell you a real life incident. One of my batchmates was an average guy, okayish in studies. He even got an job with very low pay. He left the job to try for government exams or business. After couple of years gap he joined a small private organisation again. Worked hard and moved to another organisation. Now after all these years he is working in Europe at a handsome salary, married and lives a good life. Point being, everyone’s life clock is different. You may feel stuck today but tomorrow might be better.

Also he was working in support/operations role. And still is

No offense to anyone but why everyone keeps posting their "first-world problems" here.

Whoever you are! This life that you have.. thousands would murder to have it. You know that right?

Understand that.
Get out there mate!
If you think you earn less - Upskill If you think your marriage is a sham - do something about it.
If you think you have lost interest in life - take a gap month or apply for leave and pack your bag, go somewhere, just somewhere!!

Take up a hobby! It's so easy mate.
You like cinemas? become a fanatic You like food? try learning about cuisines around the world.
You like sitting on your couch and doing nothing? Start doing something there, video games, books, articles.

Do something man!! Don't be a wimpy little lad.

None taken !! But do you think we would not have taken these steps or at least tried but not everyone is fortunate enough to just quit or take a gap and pack bags to mountains…. Some of us are the first person in family to think they can have a own house… we only cry when everything is lost…

@EmbarrassedPrejudice This is the case for all elder siblings especially males. Everyone has responsibilities.
I am the black sheep of my family as well. Lots of us are.
But you need to embrace it.
Accept it. Chin up and move ahead!
Just move ahead. Make up your mind.

Loki (MCU reference) had a 'Glorious Purpose'. Now all he has is 'The Glorious Burden'. Setting at the end of time till eternity.

Your responsibilities or mine, it is a 'Glorious Burden'.
And in order to carry that, we do our share of glorious sacrifices!!

That's what men do.!!

It's ok.. To be a looser.. But remember you won't be a looser.. All of the life.. Once you identify the purpose of your life thing will be better. Steps which can help you. 1start some form of yoga/meditation.. Not more than a month.. You will feel difference. 2.start taking omega 3,vitaminb12,vitamind3 ofcourse seek medical assistance before taking any medications.. Most of the time these feelings are because of deficiencies in the body.. You are aging and aging body has different needs than the young ones.. 3.if you don't like yoga.. Do breathing exercises.. 4.this is the most important thing.. Take any external sports activity. Cycle /running /walking. 5.if you are a social animal find groups in your vicinity which have similar interest as you. 6start a hobby if you can.. Not required. 7.do some charity.... for no reason help someone...
It may be an animal a human... anyone.. This will bring a greater sense of goodness. I know that you will do better. I have survived this phase of my life.. 17years strong... Married and have one 10year old kid as well. Find the purpose of your life.. You are the sunshine you are searching for... Be strong.. Good luck

Just for your information at your age I was also making exact same amount.. There are always people earning more than you.. And some will be lesser than you.. Do not compare anyone with yourself. You are a unique person among all the others. By comparing yourself to others you are insulting yourself.. If you have to compare.. Compare yourself with the older version... Of you.. Your worst and best competition if just you.. Nothing other than that..

Comparison is the thief of joy... I am pretty sure there are tons of folks who dream of a salary like yours... I know its human nature to compare, however I feel even in case your salary goes 4x in a year, still you will end up seeing somebody else who was with you or is your friend and makes more than you... so this cycle never ends bhai...

Don't think your about past. If you really make your parents proud, please upskill yourself. Won't happen on day 1, but it happens eventually.
Don't compare yourself with others. Your life circumstances and their are different. So please don't compare.

Life is not a race buddy, didn't you watch 3 idiots? Nothing wrong with living for parents or yourself. Everything else is mostly temporary.

Hey, I am no one to give any advice - but i would do suggest to talk to a therapist. It takes some effort, but it helps fighting your inner battle.

A very close person in my life went through a similar phase for different reasons. Therapy really helped. Another thing that became a supporting system was journaling (privately or publicly).

You wont answer in the rat race, but you might find something trying to understand yourself.

Hoping you find your guiding light!

First step of solving a problem is to acknowledge that there is one. You are already there my friend, stay strong!
