I don’t know if you folks even consider Morgan Stanley in your list, but they laid off almost all contract employees and in team of 40 odd folks, they laid off 18 of them.
Contractual employees are there for just this. It’s not layoff for them, just contract termination. Unless they get laid off from their consultant company. Same happened here in the start. Anyway, how were the 18 folks laid off determined ? Perf. Score?
