Moving to Bangalore

I am moving to BLR next month. I want to have some advice from people already livin there. I will be working near Indiranagar and am in the middle of figuring out the best place to stay. I am confused regarding both the area and kind of stay.

Kind of stays: CoLive/PGs or 1RK/1BHK Area: Near Indiranagar, Domlur, Embassy Golf View or areas which come near Purple Line i.e. Kadugodi, HopeFarm, Hoodi, Kundalahalli, SeetharamPalya.

Would really appreciate it if you could give suggestions, provide any sort of leads or even share your experience.

My suggestion: Don't move.

My suggestion:

  1. Go for a room in a flat, PG has some benefits but the pgs you would get are not that great.

  2. Try to live close to your office, you would save travel time and the hassle free start of your day will have an amazing impact. Although having metro as an option changes a lot.

  3. Don't rent the appliances, go for second hand appliances, use them and then sell them away when you are moving out.

"Go to a room in a flat", does this mean to move into a preoccupied flat, or a 1 BHK?

Around Indiranagar, there isnt much of societies vgera, its mostly residential/builder appartments.

1BHK is also a good option but you will have to buy appliances, utensils, furniture etc. An alternative is a room in a pre-occupied flat. See what you can get for cheap.

Builder apartments are always cheaper than those society ones.

Ejipura is around 2-3 kms from Indiranagar and there on this route is very less. You can find affordable places in Ejipura. But still going for a room in a flat in Indiranagar is your best option.

PGs are bad in the area. Try to get a place around Domlur/Diamond district.

I am finding okayish 1BHKs in Murugeshpalya, How is that area?

Check the street view, can't stress this enough. The images on the website might be old and will rarely show the neighbouring area. For your first accommodation, go to the place with the shortest lock in period and looks decent (obv). Then, visit the other places in person

How are PGs in BLR

I'll be moving to Bangalore by the end of the month. I am not sure about should I book the PG or room first before moving there, or first go there and then book it. Seeing all the posts about people not able to find rooms just scares me....
