Just joined , currently working in a bank with toxic work culture, want to switch to marketing roles. Any ideas? About me- a pharmacy graduate, with a mba degree and six months in the hellhole as work ex.

Are you saying you just joined a bank and you want to switch the "role" rather than the place?

I have tried switching the role… the micro management is such that there has been open threats of me getting thrown out but they would not let me switch or let anyone/other team take me. This is just the tip of the iceberg on the toxicity

Changing a department will not make it better, change the company

You want to work for Anoop Manohar? He’s a very approachable guy. I assume that your 6 months has ended your probation so you are a confirmed employee now. Difficult for your boss to make a case against you in front of HR.

In any case, you would be better off doing marketing roles in non banking companies.

P.S : Document every conversation with your boss if your environment is toxic and there is threat of job loss.

Hey, thank you for your revert.. frankly I get confirmed in a couple of days… you’re right about marketing in non banking companies and I m think I to try out there.. and speaking of Anoop Manohar even if I wanted to switch teams, my vertical head has made it clear that I only can stick it out here and he will make sure that nobody takes me… so approachable he maybe but I don’t think he’ll step on toes to help me..
