The best answer according to my knowledge-

Imagine buying an expensive car and never really get a chance to drive it off. How disappointing would that be.
I believe, talents are quite similar. You need to challenge them in order to test it, and that is exactly how you grow. There is no other way.
I faced a similar situation where I was benched for a couple of months due to the fact that company at the time had abundance of resources but not ample projects in hand. And I think any sane person in such situation having a thirst of learning, would’ve done what I did - which is - Move on from the shallows to the deeper end and test out their knowledge.

This is point at my age where I should learn - grow - earn and repeat the cycle. And I believe that is exactly what I did.

P.S. - Please do note that this is a little bold answer so you’ve to make sure to keep your tone very humble yet confident. Sometimes people sound quite arrogant with such answers. So do practice it beforehand and ask your friends for genuine feedback especially regarding how you sound when you speak such answers.

correction

Abundance of resources but quite less projects in hand.

**Reason for correction - Try avoiding the usage of negative connotations. Ex. - Words like ‘Not’ etc. **
