not able to find an internship/break in design field

Hey,

So I’m a recent engineering pass out from a tier 2 university and I have done few internships in my college as well as published a research paper in HCI field.

I don’t have experience working in a product company though (with actual pms and designers) and it has been almost 5 months I have been looking for an internship as a product designer in product companies.

Till date I have given almost 10,12 interviews at good companies like Groww, Urbancompany, Scaler….. but still couldn’t breakthrough

My portfolio is pretty decent, I keep posting my work on twitter which gets good engagement.

What am I doing wrong here? I sometimes feel like I shouldn’t have switched my career but product and design is what fascinates me the most.

Would love to hear your tips/opinions (need your help) on getting a breakthrough in product design in indian tech eco system. 👋🏼
