Not getting calls due to career gap.
Hello Guys , I have 3 YOE as a Data engineer , i had to resign back in aug 2023 due to my father kidney failure. I had to take care of my business and transplantation process. Now i'm looking for job oppurtunities in the same domain but not getting calls , whenver i get call when they hear of gap i get ghosted. I'm have financial issues too and need a job asap. How to proceed with this. I have exp in Pyspark , SQL , AWS , Tableau , Airflow , databricks and also learning Azure. How to proceed in this situation.

Hide the gap; with some gig or freelance work similar to your experience. When HR Asks; let them know you were working with a bunch of friends on freelance projects but they were financially not interesting.
E.g - I loved teaching so u though I could supplement my income doing so. Add bunch of teaching experience and gig work.
To HR - However, I later found it was not the right fit. And, it didnt stimulate me at work after the first few months passed.
Apart from that had to take care of personal responsibilities as well..

If i mention freelance work will they ask for payment proofs? Since most companies pay you on the basis of previous salary.
