Parents found out I drink socially and are ready to disown me xD

My parents recently found out that I'm not the "sushil" kid they envisioned me to be and came to know I drink socially.

They're so going to kill me for this. It sucks being called a disappointment but it iz wut it iz.

How did y'all parents react when they found out something like this about you :P

Then you are on right path. Trust me, they are just being good parents so that you wouldn't go derailed in entire life. Just put your feet in their shoes once, try to be kind for 5 mins a day. And according to Hindu shastras, when you listen to your parents, not a single planet goes against you. Try it.

No age is old enough to be a rebel.

If you feel okay drinking, you shud respectfully disobey them. As an adult, you should have full freedom is doing things that don't harm others.

P.S Alcohol is addictive and carcinogenic.

Completely agree with you. I only drink at office outings bec colleagues usually don't take no for an answer when it comes to this, so I end up drinking a glass or two.

I drink very rarely. I know that my parents know I drink. How much and when, they don't know.

Two ways to handle it:

  • Be honest about It
  • Blame it on peers, example: your Manager forced you and you can't say No to him

Btw how did they find out

Actually it's the latter to be honest. Always happens at outings with work colleagues and they don't listen even if you say no.

Found out from a photo on my phone. Rookie mistake heh.
