Generally in most companies, on failing in PIP, the person is asked to resign or is laid off, but I have never heard of any company mentioning it in the experience letter.

Generally, the experience letter is generic, and the same for anyone leaving the company, whether they leave through normal voluntary resignation, or by failing in PIP.
