Price of prestige

Thoughts on club memberships? Are you already a member? What is good about these? Why would you consider one?

Member at Soho House. I got the U-27 membership and the price will remain the same every year until I’m 30. So ₹70k per year.

What I get out of this:

  • great workspace, have managed to build a few connections and network (I work out of here 3/5 days a week)
  • loads of events
  • great movie screenings
  • gym with a beautiful view (sunset & the beach) (a gym membership at decent gyms in my area are 30-50k for the year)
  • also has amazing rooms if you wanna stay and unwind at decent prices + I get U-27 membership discounts

Been a member for almost a year and I think it was a great decision to get the membership, nothing about prestige/status since I barely get guests barring 1/2 friends.

Do you believe it’s value for money ?

Yes. For all my intents and purposes the membership has given me good value and I’ve never thought “damn this money could have been better utilized elsewhere”.

I know someone who paid 20 lakhs for a lifetime membership of a club in a tier 2 city. Couldn’t believe it!

Ameer logo ke chochle hai bro, just use that money for your family trips or events, you'd be much much happier. If family is bad, go with friends. These clubs are literally scams 😂
