Questions to ask after an SDE interview?
I was wondering what are some good questions to ask the interviewer at the end of the interview? They always end up with -"Do you have some questions for me?". To which I often ask the following -
- What is your responsibility and day to day work look like?
- What are the tech stacks that you are using? And sometimes -
- What are you looking for in this role?
The 3rd question is mostly for hiring manager. I was wondering if you could share what questions do you ask. It would be great if you could break into - INTERVIEWER IS A
- senior dev
- Team lead/Architect/CTO
- Hiring Manager
- Director
I look forward to your amazing answers and learn from it 😍
- What needs to happen for me to get promoted ?
- What's the on-call scene?
- What is the one major milestone of next 3 months for the team?
These questions tell the manager that -
- you can zoom in (promotion) and out (milestone)
- plus you are aware about peripheral (on call).
That's it. Anything about culture, tech stack, team, expectations are childish question.
As a engineer why does "tech stack" matters ?
It only matters to content creators. 😂
