Rant - Club Mahindra ads

So, club Mahindra in their ad claims dads with club Mahindra membership are the best.

how is this not a problematic ad? You’re targeting children and forcing them to demand club Mahindra memberships from their dad ? Else they are not best papa? My gosh what a pathetic ad.

How is their brand team okay with it.

Seems like you're not aware how dark marketing can really get. Watch this podcast -

Club Mahindra is still just holidays. Food brands are literally poisoning India every day.

Also look up liver doctor on Twitter and his content. You might have heard of him.

I mean, this seems quite within the ethical domain. Honestly, if hot wheels said the same thing I don't think you would bat an eye. Just because the ticket size is different. Good dads train their children to see this trickery.

This is how marketing works, you target the insecurities.

See how BYJU markets, they say your kids will be left behind in life if you don’t pay.

Fair and lovely says that dark skinned people don’t get good marriage proposals.

This is marketing 101.

@SabChangaSi Many brands can easily do this, an apple can always market itself by simply doing the same ad. Just make a kid say "my mom is the best because she has given me ipad." Imagine they doing vise versa making elderly parents say my daughter is the best cause she bought me an iphone right in front of others son who is unemployed. This is so cheap and the legacy apple has built will never allow them to do that. that's not the way to do it if your product is great, market the product, explain about features if they are awesome but do not expliot sentiments. I believe mahindra falls in the same bracket as apple they doing this might be hurting their legacy

@Safe fair and lovely is marketing the product and same goes with Byjus as well. They are letting people know what they would miss of they do not purchase their product (though it's over the top but at the end of the day it's product). But Byjus never said you would be looked down if do not give Byjus tab to the kid. Making a kid say tere papa tho best hai is something that bothers me. Kids who see this mahindra ad might be asking their parents is papa the best? For somebody who cannot afford this hurts. I believe this is not Mahindra's level. In fact they being put in the sameline as Byjus tells a lot about these ads IMO.
