Recession will kill hybrid. Only full RTO (4 days a week) or WFH will survive.
Yeah there may be some benefits for juniors to be in office. As a counterargument, while in office could make some interactions better "by default", I rarely hear of companies proactively trying to facilitate better interactions.
Water cooler talk and in person company culture and mentorship leads to innovation--which is why companies want people in offices. Most companies suck at remote work culture.Companies could've outsourced years ago and didn't cause they know it sucks and a bad investment. We'll see more satellite office in smaller cities though. Fact of the matter is if you're not in person you're not gonna get promoted as fast. Fine for people who don't want career advancement but junior engineers overwhelmingly want to be in office.
