Remote work should be normalized. There's no point of coming to a box from your comfort of home to work for someone who's sitting thousands of miles away and will never come to meet you in-person.
MS-Teams and Slack work just as good, sometimes even better from home. It is not necessary to come to an office to start an online meeting with a client. Microsoft made freaking RDC so you don't have to fly client-side to restart the damn server!
Sad truth though. You are just a resource for the company, if you cannot perform they will let go of you.
