Resume advice

Hey guys, my first post on here.

I have been unemployed since a year due to some personal problems, but right now interviewing. On my resume is it advisable to add my freelance work which I’ve done in the past year instead of the gap ? It was on and off freelancing for a friends company.

I wanted inputs on, if this is okay and also, how would a background check be done regarding this? Is contact with the client good enough for background verification.

Please add freelancing, explain you were working full time. Demonstrate you learned during that period.

As you have already communicated this was freelancing to convey you were receiving cash in hand and the purpose was not to earn too much but to learn and sort out life in general.

Most companies will take it positively. There won't be any issue in Background Verification.

Hey thanks a lot for the inputs. I was hesitant since I read somewhere companies might think I’ll be more likely to moonlight if I’m a freelancer.

Will update my resume, this will definitely boost my chances for interviews. Thank you!
