Spotify really be testing users’ patience
The rock only gets bottomer for spotify free users 😭 spotify wrapped you’ll be missed 👍🏼
I was honestly okay with the ads, but this was my last straw lol
There should be an easier free way to transfer Spotify playlist to YT Music (and vice versa)
This is one of the reasons why premium users don't (more like can't) switch their music app
This lack of interoperability may not be good for consumers, but businesses have been utilising this "retention by complexity" strategy to keep the churn in control.
This retention by complexity approach, subtle yet effective, involves creating systems, services, or products that are so intricately embedded in the user’s lifestyle or workflows that the thought of switching to an alternative feels overwhelmingly cumbersome
A few examples of business (apart from Spotify): https://talesofss.com/retention-by-complexity-how-brands-keep-you-hooked/
Thank you for sharing. I tried this one - mainly coz of GUI
Actual Solution that works - GitHub tool - need access to Spotify and YT Music accounts - then revoke account access - https://github.com/linsomniac/spotify_to_ytmusic
I switched from Spotify to apple music and transferring liked songs and playlists was a pain. Ended up paying 500 bucks for a 1 month subscription of a service that does migration and it was worth it.
P.s moved to apple music as its the only streaming to provide lossless audio files and when paired with good IEMs have good immersive listening experience.
I use blackhole available on github you can link your spotify and yt music in it
