[Salaries Update] Thank you! We're trying to make it even better

It’s been close to 10 days since we announced Salaries (beta) on Grapevine. This little baby product has gotten good traction, so we want to give it more love and develop it into something deep, and helpful

Since launch, more than 10,000 people have used the product, and 4000+ have contributed their salary information anonymously :)

We are working on making the product even better and make more data points available as we go.

Thanks all for using, giving feedback. and sharing with friends/colleagues :)

I guess sanity of data should also be given more importance. I see lots of wrong salary data points. There should be a mechanism to first verify them before publishing it.

Hey you make a good point.

But we try to to check each and every data point before publishing. Do point out when you see something erroneous and we will bump it out.

But point taken!

Is there a way to report erroneous entries ?

Great going!

Personally I feel the ESOP numbers seem to be wrongly entered as per year by many folks.

Also, it's time you guys included other job functions too. We Marketing folks have been waiting for quite sometime now. :)

Saar, please do not report actual salary, it causes a divide-by-zero error 😆

Few feedback

  1. Don't count esops while calculating average and bands. Esop varies depending on what stage you join the company and is quite honestly a punt. Or atleast there should be an option to discount esops
  2. Work experience for functions like product management involves two components - Product management work experience + overall experience (like having been an engineer, analyst, marketer etc before). Just one filter doesn't give a great picture on the salary levels.

Grapevine Salaries is awesome!

The data nerd in me loves this feature very much! Pay transparency is very cool.

Although, I'm miffed to realise that Big Tech compensation is still top of the market.
