Sales Job - How to learn and succeed?
To all the experienced people out there,
I'm going to start a job in a sales role soon enough and I'm a rookie here. What do you think I can do to best prepare for my job.
Things to know Books to read Podcasts
Anything else that you think I should know?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks.
Few suggestions
A) know your product inside out - be an expert of your product, know its utility, limitations.
B) understand your customer, their life cycle and what need you’re solving. Remember - you’ll close your sale only if the deal/product is a win-win for both of you.
C) underrated but most importantly- learn to accept rejections! It’s said in sales - a new day is a fresh slate, it doesn’t matter if you were a hero or a zero the previous day.
D) close loop customer feedback with your production / product team to improve CX
E) build exceptional relationships with your customers - it’ll go a looooong way.
There's only one basic rule for sales.
Know the weakness/insecurities of your customers and use it against them
Thank you!! This is helpful
