Selective/Fake outrage: Is this limited to the upper middle class?
you must have noticed people speaking against anything big/small issue that happens in the west but rarely say anything about issues in their own country.
are they afraid of the government?
you won't see any celebrity or famous person saying anything in support of farmers protest or manipur violence or any other oppression faced by people.
what do you think is the reason behind this mentality?
I believe bcoz we guys are cowards. We don't have a spine. We won't stand behind these people when they talk against oppression, we don't support them when they are going against majority sentiments to highlight issues.
We always think, it's not our fight! And you know the saying, tomorrow, someone will come for us, but no one would be there to stand with us
It's all business. Biggest amount of funding of cricket comes from the west so they've got to prioritize western agenda. Most of the big startups that you see getting listed on jerseys are actually funded by foreign investors in majority. As Indian wealth starts to fund more businesses in India, we'll see the narrative shift to Indian issues (unless the wealth owners themselves are westernised and want to prioritize west issues).
I consider employees with high salaries as the upper middle class. They are rich but don't have the power of the business owners, afterall they are employees
Their ego doesn't allow them mingle with other working class people and the rich don't let them into their exclusive clubs. So to impress the rich these people indulge in these mindless outrage.
If corporate life is seen a modern day slave farming, then these upper middle class people are the house slaves. The dress like the slave owners, punish the field slaves more than the slave owners themselves. They serve them with sincerity thinking one day they can become like them. That one day will never come.
