Should I move to Bangalore? Is it worth the hype?
Before asking my question, I'll explain my situation.
About me: I am 23 years old, living in a village, attended a Tier 3 college, been a front-end developer for the last 3 years with 1.5 years of full-time experience. Currently, I'm working from home and aspire to create products that solve problems for myself and others around me. I enjoy reading books and have goals to build hobby products that can be monetized, learn a lot, become a content creator, and stay fit.
My current company: A fintech startup - well-established with a very good salary, a tech team of 15, good culture, flexible working hours, unlimited leaves, and a work-from-home-first policy. Although we also have an office in Bangalore, fewer than 5 people come in. I am very happy to be a part of this company and team.
Confusion: I have a fear of missing out (FOMO) about not moving to Bangalore, such as networking, working with a team, sometimes feeling bored at home, learning professionally and personally, and opportunities. I encounter people who advise me to move out of my home, saying this is the early stage of my career and I will miss out on a lot of things.
I spent a couple of weeks in Bangalore. My experience with Bangalore: Pros - Working from the office was good; I could meet people in person instead of on Google Meet. Occasionally enjoyed going out. Cons - Traffic, PG rent and food, commuting, expenses, lack of a proper routine, couldn't find time for myself. I totally had a bad experience with it.
The question: Will I miss out on anything I mentioned above? I know both working from home and working from the office have their trade-offs. But I don't have much experience, so I can't decide on this. Please help me if you can.
Thanks for your valuable time.
