A little background, I am a working professional, stuck in a low paying remote job largely due to the lack of communication skills, low confidence, teen-like face and short height. I am skilled but was not graduate until recently, my result is expected to be out in January. My experience so far has been in a non traditional jobs like freelance work, bug bounties and now independent contractor.
I have received a conditional offer from the University of Kent in UK. I am confused whether I should accept it or not. The university seems nice but the QS ranking is around 380. Going for it, I will have to take a loan of 35L payable in 5 to 10 years after graduation and some moratorium period at 11 to 12% interest rate. If chatgpt calculated correctly, I will be paying around 50L in total. College does provide a job in the UK but if I fail to get any, that can become a lifetime burden for me as my present income is around 7 to 8LPA.
The course is MSc Cyber Security and I am optimistic about my growth in the field with or without it. However everything is costly including certifications, schools, bootcamps, tools and still the pay is the same as the average tech job. Indian jobs are paying 3 times the cost of living on average and so is UK jobs. In the UK, same percentage of salary gets average level but good quality of life. India gives high level but low quality of life. I mean I can buy a better car in lower costs but the roads have potholes in india. In the UK, buying a car might be costlier but even with a cheaper car roads would be better.
