When you smoke next time, stop doing any other thing. Just focus on the cigarette, you inhaling and exhaling it. The smoke, the flavour, the burn, the rush.
Either you'll become a chain smoker, or let it go.

I quit for almost couple of years. Went for Vipassana. 10 days they keep you busy doing nothing. You are almost there.

I couldn't get any cigarettes for a month in COVID lockdown so I quit.

Quit cold turkey, whenever I had the urge to smoke resorted to either having drink cold water or green tea. Didn't help with the craving but I was hydrated and that became a habit, post a month didn't need smokes anymore and also felt so much better energy and decided to never go back again. It's about strong will power in my opinion

Nicotex - worked out well for me

Start with reducing the number of smokes.
Delay the first and last cigarette of the day
Increase duration between smokes.
You will quit and restart a few times but follow the above and you will quit it all eventually.

It's not one size that fits all, but yes I was a heavy smoker , started as part of a silly challenge . When someone told me you don't smoke so you don't advice me on quitting, so I said OK I will smoke for 1 semester and end of the semester I will quit then let's talk. I have a pic of me taking my first drag. That semester ended but I remained a smoker and smoked for 12 years after that. 1998 to 2010. Quitting was easy I did it so many times in those 12 years.. ha ha jokes apart I must have tried every single trick in the book like tapering , smoking nicotine less cigarettes , nicotine patches , nothing worked , then one day I read a book about quitting smoking in which there was a statement that said "every time you make up a reason to smoke. It is not you that is making up the excuse , know that it is your addiction that is trying to fool you" the next day I said fuk it and quit cold turkey and every time I felt the cravings and tried to convince myself to smoke with xyz reasons I smiled and said to my self "hey addiction , I am not going to get fooled I am stronger than you" etc etc... it was i vs me and I won! Lol The craving lasted for 3 to 4 months then even that vanished. So like I said in the beginning is not one size fits all but that's real story.

Smoke some green and relax

Covid hospitalization worked for me😬

I calculated the financial cost, it was 30K per year that i could put towards savings, that realisation made me quit cold turkey
