Storage space of GV DMs

I am not able to scroll up to the beginning of the DM when the messages are plenty. I thought they expire, but when I cross checked other DM with less messages, I was able to view the first message as well. Tech team at Grapevine - request to resolve this and I want to read the beginning of the DM anytime even if the storage increases.
