Suggestion on company shifting

Will there be a bad impression on my resume ,if I switch 2 companies within 4 years (2yrs in 1st company,2yrs in current one). And if I'm planning to switch company now ,with this 4 yrs of experience. PS : There is level progression throughout this shifting process (Associate-> SDE1 -> SDE2)

Switching companies in 2 years is quite common in our tech industry. As long as you can explain your reasons for each move and highlight the progression in your roles and responsibilities, it shouldn't leave a bad impression on your resume. Just focus on showcasing your skills, achievements, and the value you can bring to the new company during the interview process.

And yes, break the cycle if you find a good company, since for leadership roles they would like to see stability in your career graph.

If you are going to continue with switching after 2 year pattern then it might haunt you later when considered for senior/leadership role.

If you find a good company where you can stay more than 2 years then it's good.

Let's say if you find a not so good company and you are switching it again within a year then also it's fine; as long as you break this 2 years or less pattern at least once by the time you are near 8-10 YOE.
